Abandoned Puppy Discovered Under A Car Blossoms Into A Stunning Beauty
In Texas, an abandoned puppy found shelter under Abigail’s car, desperately crying for help.
This fragile, emaciated pup resembled a skeletal figure, showcasing the depth of her suffering.
Getting Ellie Out From Under The Car
When the little puppy, later named Ellie, finally emerged from her hiding spot, Abigail quickly slipped a leash around her neck.
Ellie was terrified, retreating into “turtle mode,” as Abigail recounted.
The priority was to get her to the vet, fearing she might have parvo—a highly contagious and deadly virus if untreated. Thankfully, the diagnosis revealed something less dire.
“Our vet told us that she had been eating so much garbage that her stomach was really suffering. But in a few weeks, she should be good as new,” Abigail shared with The Dodo.
Despite surviving on a diet of refuse, Ellie had come to the right person for healing.
At the vet, Abigail learned that Ellie was only about six months old, still just a baby despite her worn appearance.
Though her dry, scaly coat made her look unkempt, Ellie was a Golden Retriever mix.
For the initial days at Abigail’s home, Ellie remained frightened and unresponsive.
“She was completely unresponsive for the first couple of days. But she learned that we weren’t going to hurt her. It was really just a matter of trying to get her to come out of her shell,” Abigail explained.
Turning Into The Most Beautiful Girl
After a few days, Ellie finally found the courage to step outside. The sight of a tennis ball instantly captivated her.
“The tennis ball, she saw it and she was immediately just hooked. She wanted to play; she has that in her. From that point onwards, she was just so much better,” Abigail said.
Witnessing Ellie’s playful spirit returning was heartwarming. Gradually, she blossomed into a spunky, vibrant dog. Her skin and coat improved daily, reflecting her recovery.
“We really made sure that she allowed herself to feel comfortable,” Abigail noted.
Now a stunning Golden girl, Ellie is unrecognizable from the scared puppy who once hid beneath a car.
She enjoys car rides, eagerly sticking her head and paws out the window, and loves trips to the beach. During her first beach visit to celebrate her recovery, she experienced pure joy.
“She started digging and got an insane case of the zoomies. She was running around the beach, staring out into the ocean. She loved it. It was such a monumental moment for her,” Abigail remembered.
