This Pup’s Reaction When He Realized He Was Leaving The Shelter Is Simply Priceless
Ronnie, a stray pup with a big heart, found himself at a shelter known for helping animals find loving homes.
Unlike most newcomers, Ronnie was full of joy, greeting everyone he met with wags and wiggles.
Arriving At The Shelter
Ronnie’s story began as a stray with nowhere to call home, but everything changed when he arrived at Dallas Animal Services (DAS), one of the largest municipal animal shelters in the country.
Unlike many scared or timid arrivals, Ronnie immediately charmed everyone he met. He confidently strutted through the shelter, wagging his tail and greeting staff and visitors alike.
“He was a happy, friendly, wiggly boy who was so excited to see his human friends,” shared Marlo Clingman, the public information coordinator at DAS, with The Dodo.
The team at DAS always works hard to match their animals with foster or forever homes, and Ronnie was no exception.
Before long, his patience paid off when a family stepped forward, offering to foster him.
Meeting His Fosters
The day Ronnie’s foster mom, Ashley, arrived to take him home was one filled with excitement.
Ronnie couldn’t hide his joy, his wagging tail and happy grin showing how thrilled he was.
“He was thrilled to meet his foster mom, Ashley. He was all smiles and wags from the second he hopped in their car,” Marlo said.
Ashley captured a sweet moment in the car—a photo of Ronnie with a smile so big it made his eyes squint. It was clear that this moment meant the world to him.
Once at his foster home, Ronnie settled in beautifully. He quickly realized he was now a cherished house dog surrounded by love.
From day one, he was on his best behavior, showering his foster family with endless kisses and gratitude.
Hoping For Forever
Ronnie’s foster family has fallen in love with his playful and affectionate nature. They describe him as a dog with a big heart who’s ready to share his love with everyone he meets.
“Ronnie loves to play and would be happy to have a big doggie buddy to romp around with or at least a friend to have playdates with. He likes men and women equally — he loves his foster mom and dad so much for breaking him out of the shelter. He has met a toddler and did great — he gave him a big sloppy, doggie kiss!” said Marlo.
Though Ronnie’s foster family adores him, they hope to find him a permanent home where he’ll continue to be loved and appreciated. They know he deserves a family who will match his enthusiasm and give him the life he’s been waiting for.
With his lovable personality and boundless joy, it’s only a matter of time before Ronnie finds his forever home.
Whoever adopts him will gain a loyal companion who’s full of love, ready to play, and always excited to share a kiss or two.
