Scared Pup Missing For A Month Finally Reunites With His Mom
Mitchell County Animal Rescue in North Carolina received a call on July 5th about a frightened dog found near a highway.
They initially assumed the dog had run away, scared by the fireworks from the previous night.
But what they discovered left them in shock—it turned out to be a dog that had been missing for more than a month!
A Scared Pup Seeks Shelter
On July 4th, a couple enjoying the fireworks spotted what they initially thought was a fox running under their car. Upon closer inspection, they realized it was a small, frightened dog.
It took some time, but the couple finally coaxed the scared pup out from under the car, and she jumped in on her own.
They took her home for the night, providing food, water, and tending to a cut on her face. The dog remained silent and timid, never barking once.
A Familiar Face At The Shelter
The next morning, the couple brought the dog to the Mitchell County Animal Shelter, hoping she could be reunited with her owner.
The shelter staff were stunned as soon as they saw her. They recognized the dog from a missing poster of Fiona, a senior dog who had been missing for a month.
A quick scan of her microchip confirmed it was indeed Fiona.
A Heartwarming Reunion
The shelter quickly contacted Fiona’s owner with the good news.
When Fiona’s mom arrived, the dog’s excitement was impossible to contain. Fiona was finally back in her mom’s arms, safe and sound.
The Williams family, who had cared for Fiona overnight, were happy for her but couldn’t help but miss the sweet pup they had grown attached to.
