Locked In Crate, Skinny Pup Is Rescued And Transforms Into Adorable Princess

A small pup named Hope was left alone in a small crate and abandoned.

Clearly malnourished, skinny, and severely dehydrated, all she could do was wait for someone to notice her.

Her strong spirit and the help of some caring people changed her life.

A Hero Appears

One day, a kind-hearted passerby spotted Hope in her dire condition and immediately contacted Kreitzer’s Critter Corral Puppy Rescue (KCCPR) in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

The rescue team quickly responded, bringing Hope to safety.

The initial care provided by KCCPR included a thorough vet examination and the provision of basic necessities.

Clearly traumatized, Hope needed time to adjust to her new environment.

The team at KCCPR gave her plenty of space and a plush toy to comfort her. Alongside her severe malnourishment, Hope had painful sores on her paws and struggled to stand or walk properly.

“Hope was kept for extended periods of time in a very small cage (too small for her to fully stand in)…The combination of the pressure from laying/sitting in the same position for extended periods of time and direct exposure to urine/feces likely caused these sores to form,” KCCPR explained.

The Path to Recovery

Despite the long road to recovery ahead, Hope began to feel more comfortable in her new surroundings.

Bill and Liz Kreitzer, founders of KCCPR, decided to foster Hope to help her adapt to family life more quickly.

She loved the attention and care she received from her foster family.

“Hope is getting more comfortable in her surroundings, but it will also take some time for her to feel safe and truly let her guard down. She has been through a lot of trauma and will need time to heal (emotionally and physically),” KCCPR shared on Facebook.

Hope’s treatment included regular medication, bandages, and paw protectors to aid in her healing.

Within a few weeks, she was back on her paws, eager to play and cuddle.

She realized that the days of being abused and confined to a tiny crate were behind her, and she embraced her new life with joy.

A New Beginning

After two months with her caregivers in North Carolina, a family came to KCCPR, eager to meet the adorable pup they had heard so much about.

Hope was thrilled to meet her potential new family, especially her new little human sister. She immediately bonded with them, excited to start her new journey.

Hope’s new mom later wrote to the KCCPR team, sharing how well Hope was doing: “She is doing super great!! We love her dearly. She’s gaining confidence daily. She is super spoiled and the best cuddle buddy! I take her everywhere and she does so well. I’m so thankful for her. We couldn’t imagine life without her.”

From being abandoned and neglected, Hope found a loving home where she is cherished and adored.

We wish Hope and her family a long, happy life together, filled with love and joy.
