Villagers Shocked To Find The Barking Baby With Stray Dogs Is Actually Something Else

Villagers Shocked To Find Baby ‘Barking’ With Dogs Isn’t A Puppy

A group of villagers rushed to the aid of what they believed was a tiny, helpless dog, only to discover something truly surprising.

What seemed to be barking was actually a baby muntjac deer, lost and in need of rescue.

Calling For Wildlife Help

When the villagers first heard the sound of barking near a pack of stray dogs, they assumed it was a puppy in distress.

But as they approached, they realized the small creature running from the dogs wasn’t a dog at all—it was a baby muntjac deer, frightened and trying to protect itself.

The tiny deer had wandered away from its mother, likely from a nearby forest, and was using its unique bark to signal danger.

Concerned for the baby deer’s safety, the villagers quickly contacted WFFT, a local wildlife rescue organization.

Rescuers responded promptly, taking the young muntjac, later named Cha Lao, to their wildlife hospital.

Once at the facility, the adorable baby immediately captured the hearts of the staff.

The veterinarians estimated that Cha Lao was only a few days old, and they believed he had become separated from his mother.

His barking, a behavior common in muntjac deer when facing predators, was his way of crying for help.

Too small and weak to survive on his own, Cha Lao was lucky to have been found in time.

Cha Lao Needed Urgent Medical Care

At the wildlife hospital, Cha Lao received a full medical check-up and specialized care to help him recover.

Wrapped in a soft blanket, the young deer quickly felt safe in the hands of his caregivers.

They bottle-fed him warm milk, and Cha Lao’s sweet habit of licking his mouth after each feeding brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

As his strength returned, the staff took joy in watching him grow more comfortable and confident.

He loved going on little walks around the hospital, though his wobbly legs showed he still had some recovering to do.

Each day, however, he became stronger, exploring his surroundings with curiosity.

Soon Free & Healthy In The Wild Again

WFFT shared updates about Cha Lao’s steady progress, celebrating how far he’d come under their care.

They remain confident that with time, he will make a full recovery.

Once he’s strong enough, they plan to release him back into the wild, but only in a carefully selected area where he will be safe from human threats.

Thanks to the quick action of the villagers and the expert care of WFFT, this precious baby deer has a second chance at life.
