Rescued From Darkness, Abandoned Dog Lives Her Happiest Moments Before Saying Goodbye

Surviving A Nightmare
On August 11, 2023, Caitie from Caitie’s Foster Fam Rescue in Houston, Texas, shared Coral’s journey on Instagram, shedding light on the harsh reality this poor dog had endured.

When Caitie first found Coral, she had been locked in a dark room, discovered by the police as part of an active cruelty case.
Coral was emaciated, exhausted, and too weak to stand. But despite her physical state, she couldn’t stop wagging her tail when she realized someone was there to care for her.

Caitie immediately took Coral to the vet, knowing that her condition required urgent attention.
The vets discovered that Coral was not only severely malnourished but also suffering from heart murmur and heartworms.

Despite her frail state, Coral showed incredible spirit, quickly gaining the strength to leave the clinic after just two days, even though her stay was expected to be much longer.
Finding Love For The First Time
Once Coral arrived at her new foster home, she began to experience the warmth and love she had been deprived of for so long.
Though she was still too weak to walk, the happiness in her eyes was unmistakable.
Caitie knew they had a long road ahead, but she was determined to help Coral regain her strength and health.

Every day, Caitie worked with Coral in the backyard, helping her to build the strength to walk again. The journey was tough, but Coral’s determination and Caitie’s love made all the difference.
For the first time in her life, Coral felt what it meant to be truly loved, and that love fueled her fight to recover.
A Bittersweet Goodbye
On August 19, Caitie shared heartbreaking news: Coral had passed away.

Despite the best efforts of Caitie and the veterinary team, Coral’s body couldn’t recover from the trauma it had endured.
However, Coral spent her final days surrounded by love, comfort, and the warmth of a real home.
In the end, Coral found the peace she had always deserved. She left this world feeling safe, loved, and finally free from the darkness of her past.
