Police Newest Recruits Are So Cute They Will Steal Your Heart
It’s my pleasure to introduce you to the newest and cutest members of Taiwan’s police K-9 unit!
These six adorable puppies are gearing up to join the police squad, and the internet has fallen head over heels for them.
Becoming a K-9 Officer
Becoming a member of a K-9 unit of the New Taipei Police Department is no easy feat.
Dogs in this role undergo extensive training, and only a select few graduates to become police dogs, while others find roles in government agencies or sometimes become pets.
Meet the Squad
Let’s meet the newest recruits: Fushin, Schumann, Feida, Yige, AJ, and Liang, six one-month-old American Labrador puppies who are gearing up to take the doggie oath and serve and protect their country.
These puppies are training to join the Anti-Bomb and Drug Force and Blood Detection units—a big responsibility for these little furballs!
They’re following in the pawsteps of their parents, Yellow and Leader, who are also detection dogs.
Fighting crime and saving lives runs in their blood!
The Training Has Started
Pan Tian-long, captain of the K-9 unit, said that the puppies have already started their training.
Trainers place narcotics near their food bowls so the pups can get used to the scent while they eat.
For now, though, these puppies are still more interested in sleeping and eating than in their future police duties.
Resting Is Part Of The Job
“Sometimes, Fushin would fall asleep while eating, then wake up and continue eating like nothing happened,” said the captain.
All that training makes these puppies tired… and hungry!
For now, their only jobs are to sleep, eat, and look as adorable as possible.
We wish these pups the best in their training and hope the criminals out there are ready to face this adorable challenge!
