Stray Dog Found Sleeping On Trash Can’t Stop Hugging Her Rescuers
Little Toes, a sweet stray dog, had been sleeping on a pile of trash in Missouri, hoping for someone to save her from her difficult situation.
Her luck changed when a kind person noticed her and contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
Hurrying To Save Little Toes
A rescue team, led by Donna Lochmann, quickly responded to the call. When they arrived, they found Little Toes, skinny and hungry, sifting through the garbage.
At first, she was timid and hid behind a trash can, but Donna won her over with a can of sausage.
Surprisingly, Little Toes walked past the food and approached Donna, looking at her with eyes full of hope.
“It was as if she was saying, ‘Are you here to help me?’” Donna said.
Donna gently guided Little Toes into her car, and during the ride to the shelter, the pup felt so safe and comfortable that she fell asleep in her rescuer’s lap.
She was named Little Toes because her toes were cold when they found her, but her warm personality quickly stole the hearts of everyone at the shelter.
Life After Rescue
After receiving much-needed care and love, Little Toes recovered from her ordeal. She expressed her gratitude by giving long, affectionate hugs to everyone who cared for her.
Eventually, she was ready to move on to a foster home.
Her foster family quickly fell in love with her, and it wasn’t long before they realized they couldn’t imagine life without her. They decided to adopt Little Toes, giving her the forever home she deserved.
Thanks to the kind soul who noticed her and the dedicated rescuers who brought her to safety, Little Toes will never feel lonely or hungry again.
