This Mama Dog And Her Puppies Were In Trouble Until A Couple Volunteered To Foster Them

When Thom got a call about a pregnant Pit Bull in need, he had no idea it would lead to such a heartwarming journey.
What started as a simple offer to help turned into a full-on adventure with one brave mama and her adorable litter of pups.
A Life-Changing Phone Call
One day, Thom got a call from a shelter in California. They told him about a pregnant Pit Bull who needed someone to step in.

Her name was Cholula, and even though she’d been through a lot, the staff said she was kind and gentle with everyone.
Not long after that, Cholula gave birth to eight tiny puppies. She took to motherhood right away, doing everything she could to keep them safe and cared for.

When Thom showed up to foster her, she was shy at first. But she slowly warmed up to him and let him help.
Soon enough, the whole little family was on their way to Thom’s home.
Settling In And Making Friends
To make space for his new guests, Thom shared with The Dodo that he turned his office into a puppy nursery.
He made sure Cholula had everything she needed to feel safe and comfortable in her new home.

She turned out to be an incredible mom. Her puppies never strayed far from her, and when they did, it was usually just to wander a little before flopping over for a nap.
Later, Thom decided it was time to introduce Cholula to their dog, Ruby. They didn’t know how it would go—but to their surprise, the two dogs became fast friends.

“They were so drawn to each other right away,” Thom said. “It was almost like she needed Ruby to feel safe.”
A Bittersweet Goodbye
As the weeks passed, the puppies began to open their eyes and explore their world.
They grew curious and playful, and Cholula started bonding more and more with her foster family.

Caring for eight puppies was exhausting, and Cholula often needed help getting some rest.
Thom made time every day to spend quiet mornings with her watching Disney movies—his favorite part of the whole experience.
Eventually, the puppies were allowed outside to get used to the world. Of course, they got messy and didn’t always love bath time—but they were healthy, happy, and ready for their next adventure.

When the time came, each puppy, along with Cholula, found loving forever homes. Saying goodbye was tough, but Thom knew he had made a difference.
“That’s the thing with fostering,” he said. “Even though it never gets easier saying goodbye, I just can’t wait to do it all over again.”
