Dog’s Sad Gaze At Wall Touches Hearts After Failed Adoption

Dog's Sad Gaze At Wall Touches Hearts After Failed Adoption

The lives of dogs waiting for adoption are tough.

Each day, they meet families hoping to find a pet, but they never know if they’ll be chosen. Every morning, they wake up hoping today will be their lucky day.

For some, it can take months or even years to find a forever home, and even then, the journey isn’t over yet.

Here’s March’s adoption story.

A False Hope

March, a Pitbull mix, was overjoyed when he thought he was leaving ACCT Philly for a better life.

Sadly, his happiness was short-lived as his adoption fell through, and he was returned to the Philadelphia city shelter.

This sudden change was hard on March. Back in his kennel, he became sick and depressed, isolating himself against the shelter wall. But March’s luck was about to change.

Internet Came To The Rescue

Local news reporter Dawn Timmeney saw March’s sadness and knew she had to help. She shared a heartfelt Facebook post about him.

“I’d be a great running buddy. Imagine all the compliments you’ll get when people say, ‘Where’d you get that great-looking dog?’ Bring the family down for a meet-and-greet and who knows … I could be running with you before March turns to April” she shared.

The post went viral, and soon, good news arrived.

A New Adoption

ACCT Philly announced on their Facebook that March had been saved!

Though he hadn’t found a forever home yet, he was transferred to one of their rescue partners, who chose to remain anonymous.

They assured everyone that March was now with a highly regarded local group that would put him up for adoption through their no-euthanasia shelter.

Hearing this news, March was overjoyed. He was excited to start his new life, filled with love, cuddles, and belly rubs.

This wasn’t just great news for March, but for the shelter too. An empty kennel now awaited another animal in need.
