Sweet Dog Finds Lasting Family After 14 Adoption Failures
Ronald, a lovable dog with a big heart, had been promised a forever home 14 times. Despite being adopted over and over again, he always found himself back at the shelter, leaving him worried about adoption.
But finally, his streak of bad luck was about to end with the arrival of a special family who offered him a real home.
Ronald the Almost Adopted
If there was a world record for nearly getting adopted, Ronald would be a top contender.
This gentle giant, with a heart as big as his frame, thought he had found his forever home on 14 separate occasions. To put that into perspective, that’s three times more than some shelter dogs get adopted in their entire lifetime!
Various reasons kept potential adopters from making Ronald a permanent part of their families. Some thought he was too large. Others were concerned about him being around small children. Some didn’t provide any reason at all for returning him.
Each time, Ronald was left heartbroken and rejected. But despite his setbacks, he held onto the hope that one day a kind family would take him home for good.
Luckily, His Story Went Viral
Everything changed when the SPCA of Wake County, North Carolina, posted Ronald’s story on their website. Suddenly, it seemed like everyone wanted to adopt him.
His story went viral overnight, capturing the hearts of more than a million people who shared his story and offered donations to the shelter.
Ronald’s hopes soared as adoption applications poured in, maxing out the shelter’s capacity. For the first time, Ronald felt like his dreams of finding a family were finally within reach.
And this time, his dreams came true.
A Forever Home At Last
Ronald’s 15th adoption was the charm!
He found a loving home with a family who wanted him for exactly who he was. They didn’t mind that he weighed 64 pounds or that he’d been returned so many times before. They saw something special in him and welcomed him with open arms.
In his new home, Ronald even gained a furry sibling, an Aussie Shepherd named Billie. His new family reported that he was settling in wonderfully, embracing his new life with joy and gratitude.
Ronald’s new mom, Kiersten Davis, shared her excitement: “I for sure thought someone was going to snatch him up quickly, and I wouldn’t even have a chance.”
Now, this North Carolina pup has everything he ever dreamed of: a cozy bed, a loving family, and the security of a forever home.
