Woman Feels Devastated After Discovering A Dog Left Tied To A Fence With Only A Blanket And Food
A lonely dog sat in the dark, unaware that her life was about to change forever.
Tied to a fence with only a blanket, food, and water, Mia waited for someone to save her.
Rescued Just In Time
In the middle of the night, kindhearted strangers spotted Mia alone and alerted Yasmin, a dedicated volunteer with Jersey Pits Rescue in New Jersey.
Rushing to the scene, Yasmin was heartbroken by what she found.

“I just got a call about an abandoned Pitbull. They left her here with a blanket and food and water,” Yasmin said to The Dodo.
Despite everything, Mia greeted her rescuer with a wagging tail and a big smile, as if she already knew that better days were ahead.
A Loving Companion From The Start
Since it was too late to introduce Mia to her other dogs, Yasmin decided to spend the night with her in the car, making sure she felt safe and loved.
They bonded over treats, and by morning, Mia had already stolen Yasmin’s heart.

After a flea treatment, Mia was welcomed into Yasmin’s home as a temporary foster. From the start, it was clear that she had once been a family pet.
Her sweet manners, love for people, and calm nature made her an instant favorite.
“Mia is the sweetest, most precious little soul we have ever met. We have no idea how a dog that was abandoned in this way can still be so resilient and loving,” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
She quickly settled into her new environment, showing perfect leash skills, a gentle way of taking treats, and an unconditional love for kids.

Even Yasmin’s cat and other animals didn’t faze her—Mia was just happy to be surrounded by love.
Finding Her Forever Home
After just a few days, Mia’s life took another exciting turn. The rescue found her a foster dad, David, who was beyond eager to meet her.
The moment they saw each other, Mia ran straight into his arms, melting into his embrace—it was love at first sight. From that moment on, she never wanted to leave his side.

Though she adored everyone in her new home, no one compared to David. She became his shadow, following him everywhere and showering him with love.
“She is very low maintenance and happy just to be around her people. She walks nicely on leash, takes treats gently, and absolutely LOVES kids! Mia does not mind being in her crate and knows to use the bathroom outside,” the rescue wrote on Facebook.
Before long, David and his family realized they couldn’t imagine life without Mia. What started as a foster arrangement turned into a forever home—Mia was officially adopted!

Now, Mia spends her days on adventures with her favorite humans, never having to worry about being abandoned again.
Her past is behind her, and her future is filled with nothing but love, happiness, and the security she always deserved.
