Big-Hearted Firefighter Rescues Abandoned 3-Month-Old Pittie From The Streets
This touching story follows a firefighter and an abandoned dog who crossed paths while he was on duty.
Their meeting would change both their lives forever.
An Unexpected Encounter
While out on a routine call, Sacramento firefighters stumbled upon a small Pitbull in desperate need of help.
The poor pup, later named Chunkie, was found tied to a tree, abandoned by her previous owners. To make matters worse, she was left out in freezing weather, shivering and alone.
The sight of her in such a dire situation deeply moved firefighter Mike Thawley and his crew, and they knew they had to take action.
Without hesitation, the firefighters brought Chunkie back to the firehouse, where they immediately warmed her up with blankets and gave her a much-needed bath.
After ensuring she was comfortable, they decided the best course of action was to take her to an animal shelter where she could receive proper medical care.
Getting Care And Adopted At The End
At the shelter, Chunkie was treated for mange and began her road to recovery.
Despite knowing she was in good hands, Thawley couldn’t stop thinking about the sweet dog he had rescued. He returned to the shelter to check on her, and Chunkie’s joyful reaction to seeing him again melted his heart.

Realizing he couldn’t leave Chunkie behind, Thawley waited for her to fully recover and then made the decision to adopt her.
Now, Chunkie is thriving in a loving home with Thawley and his family, living a life filled with adventure and care.
