Traumatized Pup Afraid Of Touch Learns To Love Belly Rubs And Finds A Forever Home

When the rescuers from Howl Of A Dog (HOAD) met Mina, she was a broken soul, both physically and emotionally.

But her story of fear and trauma was about to turn into one of hope and healing.

A Tragic Story

When Mina was rescued from a city pond, her terror of humans was immediately apparent. She trembled uncontrollably at every attempt to pet her.

Her rescuers quickly realized Mina had experienced severe trauma that left her petrified of human touch. Alongside her emotional scars, Mina faced significant health challenges.

She was severely emaciated, suffering from mange and intestinal infection, anemic, dehydrated, barely walking, and so emotionally traumatized that she was terrified of everything,” the HOAD team shared in a video.

Mina’s first weeks in recovery were tough, requiring patience and gentle care. She slowly acclimated to new people, new dogs, and a new sense of safety.

With consistent love, medication, and time, Mina started to open up. She wagged her tail for the first time in ages, an emotional milestone for her caregivers.

Soon, Mina became a different dog – playing in the yard, making friends with other dogs, and radiating pure joy.
