“That was really a big moment for me because up until then, his tail was kind of down all the time,” Hughes recalled. “He didn’t really know how to enjoy life. But little by little, he realized that someone cared about him, and he started coming out of his shell.“

With love and patience, Homer’s fear gradually faded away, replaced by trust and joy.

A few months later, the once hopeless dog looked like a completely new pup.

The vet delivered the best news imaginable: Homer was now cancer-free, and his chemotherapy had been successful.
