Pittie Miraculously Reunites With His Owner After Going Missing For Two Years
When Shamantha Powers lost her dog Loki, her world fell apart.
She searched everywhere—online, in the neighborhood, through lost pet groups—hoping to find him.
But as the months turned into years, she had to accept what felt like the hardest truth: he might never come home.
“As soon as I got home I searched high and low, posted on all social media platforms… all with no luck!” she shared online.
Almost two years passed, and the hope slowly faded. Until, one day, her phone rang—and everything changed.
The Call That Changed Everything
At Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control in Indiana, a dog had just been brought in.
He’d gotten loose from someone who had been looking after him and ended up at the shelter.

Staff scanned him for a microchip, and to their surprise—it beeped! The dog was chipped, and his name was Loki.
“We were able to contact his owner and that is when we found out she had been missing him for almost 2 years,” the shelter team shared on Facebook.
They called Shamantha, and she could hardly believe what she was hearing. After all this time, her boy had been found.
“After searching endlessly for him I kinda lost hope… I can’t begin to explain the overflow of emotions I am going through,” she said.
A Reunion Full Of Tears And Joy
When Shamantha arrived at the shelter, staff brought Loki out on a leash and waited to see what would happen.
It took just a second for Loki to recognize her.

His tail started wagging wildly, and then he jumped with joy, unable to contain his excitement. He ran to his mom and showered her with love.

Back Where He Belongs
After their emotional reunion, Shamantha and Loki returned home.
It took Loki a couple of days to settle back into his old surroundings, but soon enough, he was happy and relaxed—like he never left.
