Mama Dog And Her Pups Swap Cardboard Box For Shelter’s Warmth
This is the story of an in extremis rescue of a mother dog and her six puppies who were living on the streets with only a cardboard box for shelter.
Moma Dog And Her Pups In A Worrying Situation
In a heavy downpour, this mommy dog tried her best to keep her puppies warm with her body. Despite her efforts, it wasn’t enough to ensure their safety.
The flimsy cardboard box they huddled in offered little protection. Throughout the night, the mother dog trembled and worried, hoping they could make it through to the next day.
Neighbors To The Rescue
At dawn, rescuers received an urgent call about a mother dog and her six puppies in dire need of assistance.
Though neighbors had given them food, water, and a makeshift shelter, it was clear they needed much more.
When the rescuers arrived, the mother dog was visibly stressed, too frightened to move, and worried for her pups. Her eyes showed a faint hope that perhaps these humans were there to help.
A Delicate Rescue Mission
Getting the mother dog to leave her temporary shelter was challenging.
The rescuers tried using food to coax her out, and it did the trick. Gradually, she accepted the food, starting to trust the rescuers.
They carefully moved the cardboard box from under the car and placed the puppies in a carrier. The mother dog watched closely, ensuring her puppies were safe.
Putting a leash on the mother dog was difficult, as she wasn’t used to having anything around her neck. But with patience, food, and the presence of her puppies, she allowed the rescuer to gently touch her.
Eventually, he lifted her into a crate in the minivan. Her puppies were soon with her again.
The family was together once more, ready for a fresh start. Four boys, two girls, and their mom arrived at a loving shelter.
The best part? The shelter is fully no-kill and relies entirely on donations.
If you have a few dollars to support this kindhearted man in saving more puppies, you can donate here. Many happy little paws would be forever thankful for your generosity.
