Dog Left Chained To A House Can’t Hide His Joy Upon Seeing His Rescuer

One day in Detroit, a resident noticed something moving in the abandoned house next door.

Driven by curiosity, he decided to check it out and was surprised to find a sweet dog chained up, alone, and desperately in need of help.

A Rescue Unfolds

Wasting no time, the man reached out to Rebel Dogs Detroit, and they quickly sent volunteer Tiffany Perkins to the scene.

As soon as Tiffany arrived and saw the pup, now named Beaker, she was instantly moved.

“Beaker was timid and cowered behind the garage to hide. He peeked out the side as I started calling for him. As I got closer, his tail started wagging. Then he pushed his weight against us for petting him — and seemed to be visibly relieved. He ‘meeped’ like a muppet, he was so excited, so he got the name Beaker!” Tiffany shared with The Dodo.

Despite his initial fear, it didn’t take long for Beaker to realize that Tiffany was there to help. She quickly unchained him, and Beaker’s joy was unmistakable as he finally tasted freedom.

However, Tiffany noticed that the chain had been tightly wrapped around Beaker’s neck, and she rushed him to the vet for urgent care.

Healing And Getting Ready For A Loving Family

While waiting for surgery, Tiffany spent hours bonding with Beaker, showering him with the love he had never known.

“We had lots of bonding time in the car waiting for his surgery for 5+ hours. He was napping with his head in my lap after a while,” she recalled with The Dodo.

Beaker’s surgery was a success, and he was soon placed in a foster home to recover. He has since embraced his new life, leaving behind the loneliness and fear of his past.
