Stray Dog Sneaks Into Truck And Won't Leave Until He's Adopted

This is the incredible story of Emily and Garrett who met their dog one day in their own truck.

Talk about fate!

Surprise Encounter In The Truck

Emily and Garrett, a couple from Los Angeles, California, never imagined finding a stray Pitbull in their truck. They were heading to a yoga class when they spotted Buddy, a stray Pittie, sitting inside their vehicle with hopeful eyes.

“We were coming home from yoga and opened the gate into our property, and saw this tail just swoosh into the truck. Our first impression was that this is a dangerous situation,” Emily shared with The Dodo.

Initially unsure how to proceed, they tried coaxing Buddy out with snacks, but he seemed determined to stay.

After two hours, some snacks, and a bowl of water, they finally got him out and realized what a sweet dog he was. At that moment, both Garrett and Emily decided to keep him.

“He just kinda looked at me, and he was like, super chill, just like: ‘Let’s hang out!’,” Garrett shared.

Welcome To The Family

The next day, they took Buddy to the vet and tried to find his owners.

When it turned out Buddy didn’t have any, Emily was relieved, having already grown attached to him.

“I was hoping that he would not end up having any owners because I loved him pretty quickly,” Emily said.

Buddy fit right into their family, acting like he’d been with them forever. The crooked-eared Pittie was comfortable and loved spending time with his new parents.

They Thought They’d Lost Buddy

Just three weeks after Buddy joined the family, he ran off into the woods, chasing an animal. Emily, heartbroken, searched every shelter in Houston, Texas, where they were living at the time.

“I was like: ‘No, this is my dog that I’m meant to have. This is not the way it’s supposed to go’, “ Emily told The Dodo.

A few days later, Emily received a call from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Texas. They found Buddy wandering the streets and took him in until Emily could pick him up.

After that emotional reunion, they got him a GPS tracker to ensure he never got lost again.

Daily Life Together

Buddy turned out to be the sweetest dog who just wants to be part of everything Emily and Garrett do.

“I’m a key part of the WFH team over here. I keep things on schedule (like my naps), I keep everyone motivated by giving them guaranteed breaks (to stop my squirrel barking), and I provide my “thunder-blanket” services to any member of my staff (my parents) should they encounter stress,” Emily wrote under a photo of Buddy lying on his dad’s lap during work.

Buddy loves helping with daily chores, taking naps on their laps, and joining them on hikes. He also enjoys lounging on their comfy bed, making sure he’s always close to his beloved family.
