Adorable Broken Pup Desperately Needing Help Finds Comfort By Curling Up On A Family Porch
Tabea was a gentle stray pup desperately in need of care and kindness. Hungry and frail, she roamed the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, searching for safety.
One day, she found her way to a family’s porch, hoping they might help her.
She curled up on a blanket she spotted there, tucking herself into the smallest ball she could, as if trying to go unnoticed.
Kind Strangers Step In To Help
A caring woman in the home was heartbroken at the sight of the small, fragile dog. Tabea’s emaciated frame and defeated spirit were impossible to ignore.

She immediately contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis for assistance.
Donna Lochmann and her team arrived swiftly, prepared to help the desperate pup. Upon seeing her condition—scarred, frail, and seemingly resigned to her fate—the rescuers knew they had to act quickly.

Despite her uncertainty, Tabea allowed Donna to place a leash around her neck.

With soft words and gentle strokes, they reassured the pup that her days of suffering were over. She willingly followed them, finally leaving the streets behind.
Love And Care Begin To Heal Tabea
Once at the shelter, Tabea began receiving the love and medical care she had always deserved. At first, she was wary, unsure of her new surroundings.

But as the staff showered her with affection, she began to trust again.
Veterinary exams revealed an ear infection and a broken tail, which required amputation. Despite her physical challenges, Tabea’s spirit began to heal. Her sweet nature captured the hearts of everyone she met.

However, her road to recovery wasn’t over. Tabea developed an autoimmune condition causing pain in her neck and back. Even so, she faced every setback with resilience and the support of her caregivers.
“…Our amazing Dr. Schulz was confident she would be ok. She gave her steroids, which thankfully worked, and now she is up and moving and cuddling again,” the rescue shared on Instagram.
Tabea’s Forever Family
On December 21, 2022, Tabea’s story reached its heartwarming conclusion. She found her forever family, where her new mom provides her with the boundless love she always wished for.
