Faithful Dog Senses His Beloved Friend Is Sick And Bids Him Farewell In The Most Touching Way

An Unforgettable Final Night

Foxy, a 14-year-old Pomchi mix, had been battling health problems, including gastrointestinal issues and bloody stools.

Her owner, Shirley Bovshow, was optimistic about her recovery as Foxy had been improving.

But Charlie, an 8-year-old Puggle, seemed to understand what no one else could foresee. The night before Foxy’s health took a tragic turn, Charlie did something he had never done before.

“Charlie surprised me when he wiggled his way into Foxy’s cot! He licked her face as he got in and snuggled up next to her, which warmed my heart,” Shirley shared with Newsweek.

Shirley, touched by the sweet moment, captured it on video without knowing it would be their final night together.

“I had no idea that this would be our last night with Foxy. In hindsight, I believe that Charlie understood the gravity of her illness. They had a strong bond and often communicated each other’s needs to one another,” she explained.

Charlie’s act of love seemed to be his way of saying goodbye to his best friend.

The next morning, Shirley brought Foxy to the clinic for her ongoing care. Tragically, Foxy suffered a severe seizure upon arrival, and the vets were unable to save her.

Coping With Loss

Foxy’s passing left both Shirley and Charlie devastated.

“I am doing better little by little and feel spiritually connected to Foxy,” Shirley shared.

Charlie, too, struggled with the loss of his best friend. According to Shirley, he started sleeping in Foxy’s cot, the very same one they had shared on their last night together.

Gradually, Charlie began to adjust and rediscover his playful spirit, but the loss left an indelible mark on him.
