Adorable Rescue Pup Dreams Of A Family But Gets Overlooked Because Of His Color
A Pit Bull named Arlo was on the brink of losing hope at a shelter in Bakersfield, California.
He’d been repeatedly ignored and passed by until a kind-hearted woman came along and made the life-changing decision to give him a chance!
Arlo’s Last Hope
Donna Clark, from Soul 2 Soul Animal Rescue in Oregon, received an urgent call from a transporter about Arlo.
The shelter was overcrowded, and Arlo, along with several other dogs, faced euthanasia if no one took them soon.

Though aware of the challenges involved in finding a home for a black Pittie, Clark didn’t hesitate.
“For dog breeds, the hardest dog to place is a black pit bull,” the Soul 2 Soul Animal Rescue team shared in a Facebook post. Clark was ready to bring Arlo to Oregon, where he would have a second chance at life.
In the days that followed, Arlo’s vibrant, goofy personality emerged, charming everyone around him. Before long, he found a family that seemed to be his perfect match.

But only a month into his stay, Arlo was sadly returned. His high energy and playful zoomies left his adoptive family worried he might accidentally hurt their young children.
“They returned him because of his energetic zoomies, as the wife was afraid he would hurt one of their children,” the S2SAR team explained in a post.
Heartbroken But Not Giving Up
Arlo’s return was tough for Clark and her team. Having finally found a home, Arlo was now back in the shelter, confused and dispirited.

His caregivers noticed a change in him; the once happy, playful dog seemed lost and uncertain.
But then, he got a second chance in the form of a new foster family.
This experienced foster mom welcomed him and was ready to help him work through his energetic nature and rediscover his joyful spirit.
Finding His Forever Family
Arlo’s time with his foster family helped him regain his confidence. Slowly but surely, his goofy and endearing personality began to shine once more.

Though finding a home for a high-energy dog like Arlo would be a challenge, Clark and her team held out hope for a match with someone who had the time, space, and heart for Arlo.

After a long wait, the right person finally came along.
This woman, upon meeting Arlo, fell in love with his sweet and playful personality, and she knew he belonged with her. Without hesitation, she decided to make Arlo a permanent part of her life.
“We are so very happy for our beautiful boy and tonight feeling very accomplished that we placed the hardest type of dog there is out there,” shared his rescuers.
A Happy New Beginning
Arlo’s new family not only gave him a forever home but also introduced him to a new doggy sister, adopted from another local shelter.

Together, Arlo and his new sibling now have a loving family and plenty of space to run, play, and enjoy their days.
Clark and the Soul 2 Soul team are thrilled that Arlo finally has the life he deserves. After all the hardship he faced, Arlo is now in the caring hands of a family that will cherish him forever.
