Dog With Rare Condition Abandoned Outside A Shelter With Tearful Note

Qwerty was a well-loved dog, but due to his rare short spine syndrome, his owners felt lost and left him outside a local shelter with a heartbreaking note.

Rescuing Qwerty

Qwerty waited patiently for shelter workers to notice him. When they finally did, they were shocked.

Alongside him was a note, clearly written by a child, that read: “I love my dog. Please don’t hit him. It’s a boy.”

The shelter quickly reached out to Nikki from Roadogs Rescue, an organization in California that helps dogs with special needs.

When Nikki heard about Qwerty’s story, she was more than happy to take him in.

Although Roadogs usually places dogs in foster homes, Nikki decided to care for Qwerty herself. She wanted to understand his condition better and get to know this sweet pup personally.

Despite his unusual appearance, Qwerty was a happy, healthy dog. He didn’t show any signs of illness or weakness and quickly adapted to life with other dogs.

He loved every moment of his foster life, enjoying walks, playing at the beach, and chasing balls with his new siblings.

Even though Qwerty couldn’t jump on the couch or run for hours, he was perfectly content with his life. Nikki knew he would make some family incredibly happy one day.

That day came sooner than expected. Just weeks after being fostered, Qwerty found his perfect family.

Finding The Ideal Family

A family from Florida fell in love with Qwerty as soon as they saw him online.

Julie and Scott, his new parents, had previously cared for another dog, Cuda, who also had short spine syndrome. The resemblance between Qwerty and Cuda was remarkable!

“There’s no denying Qwerty Cosmo and Cuda’s similarities,” his new family shared on Instagram.

Although Cuda had passed away a few years earlier, Julie and Scott were thrilled to welcome Qwerty into their home.

Qwerty quickly adapted to his new surroundings, bonding with his new family and dog siblings. He fit in as if he had always been there.

His new owners promised he would never be abandoned again, writing, “He is ours now and forever. To his former family: He is safe. Thank you for leaving him at the shelter instead of somewhere remote. Your dog was very lucky to be rescued.”

Now, Qwerty is living his best life. He meets new people every day, plays with his siblings, and gets along with cats and other dogs. He has the sweetest heart and loves everyone he meets.

His family continues to share his adventures on Instagram.
