Stray Pup With No Fur Thought He’d Never Be Loved Until A Family Proved Him Wrong
Piccolo was an older, hairless stray just trying to survive, quietly blending into the background of a busy world.
Each day, he wandered the streets looking for scraps, trying to calm his empty belly. Deep down, he longed for someone to love him—but after so long alone, that dream started to fade.
Then, something wonderful happened.
A Second Chance Arrives
One day, kind rescuers from Compassion Without Borders spotted Piccolo. He was all alone, with almost no fur, his skin dry and painful.

They gently scooped him up and brought him to safety.
Since Piccolo was a senior, he was transferred to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco. It was there that his real journey began.
The moment he arrived, everyone fell in love with him. Though his skin showed signs of hardship, Piccolo was sweet, gentle, and open to kindness.
“He had hardly any hair and his skin must have hurt, yet he was sweet and seemed to know that all of us were here to help,” said Patty Stanton from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue to The Dodo.
Nobody knew how long he had lived alone or how long he had suffered. He was already 10 years old, and shelter staff weren’t sure his fur would ever grow back.
But that didn’t stop them from giving him everything they could—medicine, warm baths, soft beds, and most of all, love.
A Family Finds Him
As Piccolo began to heal, he started going on walks and enjoying life again. And then came the biggest surprise of all—a family saw his profile online and instantly fell in love.

His sweet eyes, even in photos, reached straight into their hearts.
They didn’t care about his fur or his age. What mattered was his spirit—and they knew he belonged with them.

When Piccolo arrived at his new home, it was like a dream. He had blankets, toys, soft beds, and people who couldn’t stop hugging him.
Even without fur, he was the most handsome boy—especially in the adorable sweaters his family dressed him in.
Living The Life He Deserves
Today, Piccolo enjoys all the cozy things he never had before.
His favorite spot? Curled up in a pile of blankets right next to the heater.
