Woman Shocked To Find Dog Left Alone Tied To A Fence With Only A Blanket And Some Food
In the quiet streets of Newark, New Jersey, one dog’s life changed forever.
In the middle of the night, Mia was tied to a fence and left behind by the person she trusted most.
With only a thin blanket, a bit of food, and some water, she waited in the dark—confused and scared—hoping someone would come back for her.
But no one did.

Thankfully, kind-hearted strangers spotted Mia all alone.

A longtime volunteer with Jersey Pits Rescue, Yasmin, rushed to the scene. Seeing Mia abandoned like that broke her heart.
“I just got a call about an abandoned Pitbull. They left her here with a blanket and food and water,” Yasmin shared with The Dodo.
But even after what she had been through, Mia greeted Yasmin with a wagging tail and a soft smile—as if she knew her luck was finally turning around.
Getting To Know Her Sweet Soul
Since it was so late, Yasmin brought a blanket and pillow and spent the night with Mia in the car. She wasn’t sure how her own dogs would react just yet.

That night, they bonded over snacks and cuddles. Mia’s gentle nature immediately shone through.
By morning, Mia had a flea treatment and was welcomed into Yasmin’s home as a temporary foster. The rescue team was amazed by her kind spirit.
“Mia is the sweetest, most precious little soul we have ever met,” they wrote on Facebook.

It was clear Mia had once been someone’s pet—she had lovely manners, was calm on the leash, took treats gently, and absolutely adored children.
She got along with cats, other dogs, and just wanted to be close to people.
After everything, all Mia really wanted was to feel loved. And now, she was finally getting that.
A Foster Dad Who Changed Everything
Not long after settling in, Mia met someone special—David, her new foster dad.

The moment they met, Mia ran straight into his arms, tail wagging, heart wide open. It was instant love.
She followed him everywhere and clearly chose him as her person. Even though she liked the rest of the family, no one compared to David.

In the end, the whole family knew they couldn’t say goodbye. Mia became a “foster fail”—the best kind—and was officially adopted.
Now, Mia spends her days surrounded by love, going on adventures, and soaking up every bit of attention she craved for so long. Her hard days are over and she’ll never have to feel abandoned again.
