After discovering she was weak and dehydrated, her rescuers began giving her fluids to help her rehydrate and prepared small, frequent meals to aid her recovery.

Gaining Strength, One Meal At A Time
As her health improved, Sweetpea began making adorable baby laps around her shelter, though she still needed to gain a little more weight before additional medical tests could be done.

When she was ready, her rescuers conducted diagnostic tests and found she had Hydrocephalus, affecting both sides of her brain.
Treatment would be essential, and the path forward wouldn’t be easy.

They placed Sweetpea in an oxygen chamber to help with her condition, and within a day, her improvement was visible.
Now, Sweetpea eagerly awaits her meals and even wags her tail, a heartwarming sight for her dedicated caretakers.

After two months of steady progress, Sweetpea attended an adoption event, where she was given a special gift: a handcrafted bandanna made just for her.
