Sweet Puppy Can’t Stop Shivering After Being Dumped In A Doghouse By The Road
Abandoned on the side of the road, Jila was a gentle pup left to fend for herself. She curled up in a tiny doghouse, her body trembling from the cold and covered in mange.
All she wanted was a safe, warm place to call home.
An Abandoned Puppy In Desperate Need Of Rescue
During a routine search in Fort Worth, Texas, Judy Obregon, founder of TAO Animal Rescue, noticed a doghouse by the roadside.
When she approached, the tiny house moved. Peeking out was a trembling, mange-covered puppy with soulful, pleading eyes.

It was a cold and rainy day, and the little pup was clearly suffering. Obregon comforted her, wrapped her in a blanket, and brought her to the car.

“And I think at that moment, she knew deep down that that was it. She knew she was safe with someone that was gonna care for her,” Obregon shared with The Dodo.
The rescuer knew that without her intervention, the sweet puppy wouldn’t have survived another night.
Jila’s Journey To Recovery And Love
At the vet, the puppy was diagnosed with mange and skin infections. Obregon decided to foster her, naming her Jila after her soulful eyes.
Jila received medicated baths, antibiotics, and plenty of love. She began to recover, sleeping peacefully for the first time in what seemed like forever.
Despite her tough past, Jila was an affectionate and sweet pup. She thrived on love, enjoying cuddles and the attention she so deeply needed.
Soon, Jila moved to a new foster mom, Paige, who continued showering her with care.
Jila showed her gratitude with licks and snuggles, proving how much she appreciated every ounce of love.
Later, she joined another foster, Emily, where she continued her recovery journey. Her radiant happiness was evident in her glowing eyes and wagging tail.
Jila even formed a bond with Clover, her foster doggy sibling.
Over several months, her skin healed completely, and she was finally ready to find her forever home.
Finding Her Forever Home
A loving Texas family, searching for a companion for their eight-year-old son, saw Jila and instantly knew she was the one.
When Jila met her forever mom, she ran straight into her arms, giving her a kiss. The sweet pup quickly adjusted, basking in her family’s love and affection.

Her forever mom described her joy perfectly: “When I look at her, what I see is the word joy. Sometimes I don’t know that she even remembers being thrown on the side of the road. She’s just so overwhelmingly happy. Her little tail wagging all the time.“
Jila is for sure now living her best life, alongside a great family.
