Lovely Stray Dog Hops Into Woman’s Car And Decides She’s His Forever Person

Lena’s world changed forever one day in South Carolina when an unexpected visitor showed up in her car.

While Lena was loading her vehicle, a stray dog wandered into her garage, hopped into her car, and settled in like he belonged there.

A Surprising Visitor

She recalls the moment with The Dodo: “I had my garage all the way open. I kind of see this little creature just walk past my garage and jump into my car.“

The dog, soon named JD, had a way of charming her right from the start—even refusing to leave the car when she tried to coax him out.

That night, Lena and her husband decided JD could stay in their garage, giving him a safe place to rest.

Concerned that he might have mange, they took him to the vet the next morning. Luckily, it was only a flea allergy causing his skin issues.

Relieved, they brought JD inside to start his new life.

A Perfect Match

Once JD joined the family, he quickly won over Lena’s children with his playful personality.

Although Lena’s other dog, Bear, was initially cautious around JD, the rest of the family welcomed him enthusiastically.

Within just a few weeks, JD was playing with toys and making himself right at home, winning over Bear and becoming a beloved household member.

With regular medicated baths and plenty of love, JD’s skin began to heal, allowing him to leave his rough past behind.

Yet, his favorite place remains Lena’s car, where he often jumps in, just like on that first day. He loves to lie there as if remembering the moment he found his forever family.

“I feel like his personality has always kind of been there, but in the beginning, it was definitely a little bit more laid back. I definitely feel accomplished,” she reflects.

Once a lonely stray, JD now spends his days napping in cozy beds, playing with his siblings, and basking in the love of his new family.
