Scared Abandoned Chihuahua Cried Out In Fear Whenever Touched

Arnold, a small Chihuahua, was abandoned by his family, leaving him scared and unable to trust humans.

His fear was so intense that he couldn’t even bear being touched.

Finding Comfort In A Foster Home

After being left on his own, a kind family took Arnold in for a month and contacted Hope For Paws, a California-based rescue organization.

Soon, Foxy and the Hounds stepped in to help, and Arnold was placed in the care of Terri Fox, the rescue’s founder.

When Terri met Arnold, she knew it would take time for him to feel safe again. Arnold was terrified and wouldn’t let her touch him. He would bark, growl, and snap if she tried to reach out.

Despite his fear, Terri was patient. She sat with him every day, feeding him and giving him a comfortable space to rest, but Arnold kept his distance.

One day, Terri decided to take a gentle step toward gaining Arnold’s trust. She reached out with a closed hand, knowing Arnold might try to bite. Arnold did snap and scream, but he didn’t hurt her.

Realizing Arnold was simply scared, Terri softly stroked his chest. In that moment, she made him a promise: “You never deserved to be this scared. Somebody probably was very mean to you, but it will never be that way again.”

That small gesture changed everything. Arnold stopped barking and allowed Terri to pet him, finally trusting her.

Arnold Became The Sweetest Bug

From that day forward, Arnold transformed. The next morning, when Terri entered the room, Arnold wagged his tail and happily rolled over for belly rubs.

Their bond grew stronger as they snuggled on the couch and enjoyed each other’s company. Arnold, now called “Mr. Snuggly,” showered Terri with kisses and even slept in her bed.

After watching Arnold’s incredible progress, Terri knew he was ready for a forever home.

A loving family soon adopted Arnold, giving him the affection he had missed. Arnold also gained a new doggy brother, Pepe, and the two became best friends.

Three months later, Terri visited Arnold in his new home, where he joyfully showed her his toys. Seeing Arnold so happy and loved brought Terri immense joy.

Thanks to everyone involved, especially Terri, Arnold’s fear melted away, and he’s now living a life full of love and happiness.
