Missing Dog Stays Aloof Until His True Family Finally Arrives

One Day, Panda Went Missing

Panda was always a cherished dog, enjoying every moment with her family. Together, they made countless wonderful memories and shared an incredible bond.

One unfortunate morning in 2021, Diana Luna Torres, Panda’s owner, woke up to discover that Panda had vanished without a trace.

“We’re not sure if they got out somehow. Nala came back the next morning, but Panda never did,” Torres explained to The Dodo.

The family from Colorado was devastated when they realized Panda was truly missing. They did everything possible to find him, covering the neighborhood with flyers and posting pictures on social media.

“We never stopped thinking about him. We would always think, ‘What if Panda is here?’ We would call out his name sometimes, or people would send us pictures and say, ‘Hey, I think we found Panda,’ and it was never him,” Torres added according to The Dodo.

Despite their continuous efforts, Panda was nowhere to be found.

Unbeknownst to them, Panda had been taken in by Helping Hands Humane Society, who had no idea he was lost.

The Phone Call That Changes Everything

While at the shelter, Panda was very depressed and avoided interacting with anyone. Eventually, the staff decided to scan him for a microchip, hoping to find his family.

To their surprise and relief, the scan showed that Panda had a family. The shelter quickly reached out to them.

“Just getting that call and to know that it was him, it was his chip number, it was amazing. We were full of emotions. We were very happy, very excited, at first — our first question was, ‘Is he doing OK? How is he?’” said Torres.

The family was overjoyed but also concerned about Panda’s condition since the shelter mentioned he wasn’t acting friendly and might have been traumatized.

Without hesitation, the family traveled from Colorado to Kansas to see Panda.

Back Home After A Joyful Reunion

As soon as they entered the shelter, Panda recognized them immediately. His tail wagged furiously, and he cried with joy, eager to embrace his family again.
