Cooking gourmet meals for her family, Jessica often found herself needing a bit of inspiration. That’s when she noticed her furry sous chef was eager to help in the kitchen.
Little by little, Jessica tested Badger’s skills, and she quickly realized he had a golden touch when it came to cooking.
This lovable Golden Retriever became the family’s personal chef, delighting his pawrents with his culinary creations.
“I just thought it would be funny if Badger became our personal chef. Since I’m cooking all the time,” Jessica shares with Yahoo Life, “Badger is just there and watching me. I thought it would be funny to pick him up and see how involved he wanted to be.”

Surprisingly, Badger is incredibly well-behaved around food. Unlike most food-motivated dogs, Badger is more interested in hanging out with his family than devouring the food in front of him.
“He is so polite,” Jessica told Yahoo Life. “I don’t even understand. He’s not very food-motivated, so it has worked in our favor.”
Of course, Badger gets his rewards after filming—his favorites are chicken bits or raw filet mignon, the perfect treats for a fancy dog chef.
When it’s time to film, Badger takes his role seriously. He dons his chef’s hat, apron, and slides, ready for action.

His pawrents make sure the set is prepared before he arrives, keeping the filming sessions short and sweet, never more than 10 minutes. Jessica knows just when to take breaks to keep Badger engaged and having fun.
