Senior Dog’s Tears For A Home Break Hearts As Adopters Avoid Him For A Sad Reason
Many dogs face challenges every day, but stereotypes often create the deepest wounds. Senior dogs, in particular, are overlooked for heartbreaking reasons.
Eeyore, a senior dog from Los Angeles, endured these struggles firsthand as potential adopters turned away, labeling him “damaged goods.”
A Tragic Past
Philozoia, an animal welfare organization in Los Angeles, rescued Eeyore from a euthanasia shelter and had nothing but praise for him.

“He is crate and house trained, kid-friendly, and would make a great family dog. Eeyore loves attention and naps, and he also has a playful side. He loves toys and takes his stuffed animal with him everywhere,” they shared in a Facebook post.
Despite these glowing qualities, finding a home for Eeyore proved almost impossible. Even a foster home seemed out of reach until a woman named Harshey stepped in, moved by his story.

Once Eeyore was safe with her, his story began to spread. Harshey shared a heartfelt TikTok video that captured his struggles, writing:

The video revealed the scars behind his ears and on his back, which hinted at a past filled with trauma.
When Eeyore flinched as she touched him, it became clear his scars weren’t just physical but emotional too.

“I can’t help but fear that no one will ever come for him,” Harshey admitted in the video’s conclusion.
