Family Promised To Pick Up Their Lost Pittie From Shelter, But Never Came Back

When Lindsy first arrived at the shelter, she probably thought it was just a short stop before heading back home.

She had lived with a family for years, and surely, someone would come for her soon.

But things didn’t go as she hoped.

A Family That Never Came Back

In 2016, six-year-old Lindsy was found wandering around and picked up by animal control in New York.

She was brought to Babylon Animal Shelter, where the staff hoped to reunite her with her family.

At first, there was a flicker of hope—a child called the shelter and said Lindsy belonged to her. But that one call was all they ever heard.

No one came to get her. No one called back.

It slowly became clear that Lindsy had been left behind.

Days Turn Into Years As Hope Remains

Despite the heartbreak, Lindsy remained the sweetest, most loving pup. She adored being around people and always wanted to be included in everything they did.

Lindsy wants to be with you, she wants to be where you are, and she wants to participate in what you are doing,” the staff shared on Facebook.

She was gentle, low-maintenance, and loved walks, TV time, and snuggles. Everyone at the shelter believed she would find a home quickly.

But the days passed. Then months. Then years.

No one came.

Maybe it was her age. Maybe it was the fact that she was a Pit Bull mix. Whatever the reason, people kept walking past her kennel, not realizing how special she truly was.

A New Chapter Begins After A Long Wait

Then, in March 2019—nearly three years later—Lindsy’s miracle finally arrived.

Noel’s Dream Bully Rescue, a rescue based in Massachusetts, stepped in and brought her into their program.

From there, Lindsy would finally get her second chance at life. And she embraced it with joy.

She enjoyed peanut butter, ice cream, warm sweaters, and all the hugs and love she had been waiting so long for.

Eventually, she found her forever home. Her shelter friends were overjoyed and shared it on Facebook. After all this time, Lindsy was right where she belonged.

In December 2019, they shared a photo of Lindsy snuggled under a blanket on Christmas morning, finally living the life she always deserved.

It took years, but Lindsy never gave up hope—and now, she’s spending her days surrounded by love.
