Dog Freed After Years Of Chains Now Thrives Running On The Beach
This story is about a dog named Halo who endured years of being tied up before finally being rescued.
A Plea For Rescue
Holly, an animal rescuer, was shocked when she first saw Halo in Hawaii.
He had been tied up in a terrible situation for years, and it was clear that he desperately needed help.
Learning that Halo had spent five long years in this condition, never once being freed, made Holly and her team determined to rescue him.
Halo’s reaction to the attention from his rescuers showed just how much he longed to be saved.
It was a relief for everyone involved to know that he would finally have a chance to live a better life.
Holly shared with The Dodo, “When we opened the door to leave the property, he peed on the door and it was just kind of like, see you later.”
Once they had Halo in the car, he was understandably confused and a bit frantic, experiencing freedom for the first time in his life.
A New Beginning With A Loving Family
Bringing Halo home to her house, Holly noticed that he was very anxious and unsure of what to do in his new surroundings.
She knew it would take some time for him to decompress and adjust before he could be placed in foster care.
Holly introduced Halo to her other dogs, and after a few days, he began to relax.
One of her dogs, Bonzai, took Halo under his wing, teaching him how to be a “real dog.” The two quickly became close friends, playing together constantly, which brought Holly immense joy.
As time passed, Holly realized that Halo had found his true home with her.
She admitted, “And then of course, as I always do, I got attached. I’m a terrible foster failure.”
Halo, too, discovered his love for his new life, embracing all the joys it offered. One of his favorite activities is running on the beach with his family.
Seeing Halo finally happy and surrounded by a loving family is truly heartwarming.
