For Ronnie, an adorable stray, the journey to happiness began with a smile that said it all.
A New Beginning At The Shelter
Before Ronnie arrived at Dallas Animal Services (DAS), one of the largest municipal animal shelters in the country, he was a wandering stray with no place to call home.

The moment he entered DAS, he became the happiest dog on the block, proudly exploring the shelter, wagging his tail, and greeting everyone with excitement.
“He was a happy, friendly, wiggly boy who was so excited to see his human friends,” the public information coordinator at Dallas Animal Services, Marlo Clingman, shared with The Dodo.
Committed to finding loving homes for their animals as soon as possible, DAS ensured Ronnie wouldn’t have to wait long. Finally, his patience paid off when a family offered to foster him.
Overjoyed To Be With His Foster Family
The second Ronnie’s foster mom, Ashley, arrived to pick him up, his excitement overflowed.
“He was thrilled to meet his foster mom, Ashley. He was all smiles and wags from the second he hopped in their car,” Marlo added.
Ashley captured a heartwarming photo of Ronnie in the car, where his joy was impossible to miss.

“His smile was so big he couldn’t keep his eyes open,” she said.
Arriving at his new foster home, Ronnie realized this was the start of something wonderful. He knew he’d finally be part of a family who would love and care for him.
Ronnie’s Gratitude Shines Bright

“Ronnie loves to play and would be happy to have a big doggie buddy to romp around with or at least a friend to have playdates with. He likes men and women equally — he loves his foster mom and dad so much for breaking him out of the shelter. He has met a toddler and did great — he gave him a big sloppy, doggie kiss!” Marlo shared.
