Stray Dog Wrapped In Purple Sweater Waits Patiently For A Helping Hand
In a quiet neighborhood, stray dogs were a common sight, but one pup stood out, curled up in a purple sweater.
This time, something was different.
A Concerned Discovery
The local rescuers were accustomed to helping stray dogs, but when they saw a pup in a purple sweater with a concerning cough, they knew something was wrong.
Normally, they would neuter the dogs and release them back into the community, but this little one needed more care.
They knew they had to step in and make sure she got the help she needed.
Beatriz Ordaz, a passionate rescuer, decided to take the pup, now named Catalina the Great, into her home for treatment and affection.
Once she received care, Catalina began to show improvement. Despite the progress, Beatriz ensured that she stuck to a strict treatment plan to ensure full recovery.
“My son and I give her nebulization treatments. She’s doing better, but she still doesn’t have a family,” Beatriz shared with The Dodo.
Though Beatriz had no idea about Catalina’s past life, she suspected that she had once lived in a home. Catalina loved to climb onto the couch and socialize, showing signs of a once-loved pet.
“She definitely lived in a house before, since she loves climbing up on her couch. She’s a dog who loves to socialize with people,” Beatriz said.
Catalina’s Journey To A Forever Home
Catalina’s kindness and trust are common traits among stray dogs, who have been abandoned for no reason at all.
Beatriz and her neighbors are committed to showing her the love she deserves.
“I hope in my heart that someone gives this girl a chance. As of now, I’m waiting for her to recover 100 percent from her respiratory illness,” Beatriz explained.
Due to Catalina’s attachment to her purple sweater, Beatriz decided to keep it on. It provided her warmth and comfort during her recovery, and it made her feel safe and happy.
Since no one has yet offered Catalina a home, Beatriz continues to care for her, giving her love and attention until the right person comes along.
What’s most important is that she’s finally somewhere safe, surrounded by humans who remind her every day just how important she is.
