Man Rescues Dog From Junkyard And Discovers A Heartbreaking Surprise
When Graham and Skip Fellers rescued Dime, they thought they were simply giving a stray dog a second chance.
Little did they know, this gentle giant carried a hidden pain that would change their lives forever.
A New Beginning For Dime
Dime spent the first three months of his life in an Atlanta junkyard, living among other stray dogs.
One day, he and his dog father escaped the yard, and Dime found temporary refuge with a kind woman who couldn’t keep him for long.
That’s when fate stepped in. Graham Fellers received a call from a friend about a dog in need, and he couldn’t say no.
Within days, Dime joined Graham and Skip in their mountain home, finally experiencing love and freedom.
Though timid at first, Dime’s sweet personality quickly won them over, and he became a cherished part of their family.
Expanding Their Pack
In 2020, the couple adopted a second dog, Pork Roll, an energetic American Bully who was the perfect contrast to Dime’s calm demeanor.
Despite their differences, Dime and Porkie formed a strong bond. They played, adventured, and even cuddled after long days together.
“Porkie is either a whirlwind of energy or napping for hours,” Skip shared. “The two balance each other perfectly.“
Dime’s favorite companion, though, remained his dad, Graham, who shared an inseparable bond with his gentle giant.
After years of joy, the couple noticed Dime struggling to walk.
Concerned, they took him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy, a progressive spinal disease affecting his mobility.
Determined to help him live comfortably, Graham and Skip devised creative solutions.
Facing Challenges With Strength
To support Dime, Graham built a custom harness and later got him a wheelchair, which helped him regain some independence.
Even Pork Roll chipped in, sometimes tugging Dime’s wheelchair during walks.

Despite his condition, Dime’s spirit remained unbroken.
“Dime has lived the most full life with us,” Skip said. “He’s been on countless adventures, and he’s still the happiest boy.“
Today, Dime’s days are filled with love, treats, and outdoor adventures. His family ensures he feels included in everything, from walks to mountain hikes to long cuddle sessions.
