A Furry Head Peeking from A Sewer Leads To A Heartwarming Rescue
Early one morning in Lexington, Kentucky, animal control officers were flooded with calls about a Husky trapped in a sewer drain.
The situation seemed unusual—how could a dog end up there?
But with so many reports coming in, the officers knew they needed to check it out.
Upon arriving at the scene, they spotted a tiny furry nose sticking out from a crack in the concrete. The Husky, who would later be named Sebastian, had gotten himself into a tricky predicament.
An Unusual Rescue
The officers weren’t exactly sure how Sebastian ended up in the drain, but they guessed he had entered through a pipe and then couldn’t find his way back out.
Despite his predicament, the Husky appeared to be in good spirits.
In a playful Facebook post, the rescue team joked, “[Sebastian] had always wanted to meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but instead, found himself face to face with a couple of Animal Control Officers!”
With the situation at hand, the team quickly set to work. They removed the drain cover, allowing Sebastian to crawl out with a big grin on his face as if it had all been an exciting adventure.
It was clear that Sebastian had enjoyed the attention during his unusual rescue.
“He had a great time being rescued and enjoyed his stay,” the representative shared with The Dodo. “He would 100 percent do it again.”
A Joyful Reunion
Once Sebastian was safely out, animal control immediately contacted his family, who had been anxiously searching for him.
While his family was relieved, Sebastian seemed more interested in enjoying his time at the shelter, blissfully unaware of the trouble he had caused.
“The spunky Sebastian is now safe and sound at our facility and is eagerly waiting to be reunited with his owners!” the rescue team wrote on social media.
Soon after, Sebastian was joyfully reunited with his dad, who was overcome with emotion. The photo of their reunion captured their feelings perfectly—Sebastian with a huge smile, and his dad on the verge of happy tears.
Sebastian’s charming personality had brought smiles to everyone he met, making his rescue story a true happy ending. As the shelter wrote in their post, “We love happy endings!”
