A Blind Senior Dog Finally Finds His Forever Home After Being Left At A Kill Shelter

Muneca is a blind senior Beagle dog who ended up in a kill shelter after being dumped by her family. But Elaine, a volunteer at BP Animal Care Center, changed her life for good.

Elaine was the first to give attention and love to this poor abandoned puppy, who responded right away!

Shot by Jonh Hwang and shared on social media, this emotional story took an unexpected direction.

The Bling Puppy Was Abandoned In A Shelter

Muneca, an 18-year-old blind dog who had spent years as a beloved family pet, faced the ultimate betrayal when she was abandoned at a local kill shelter by her family.

Being blind made her new surroundings especially terrifying. At first, Muneca was understandably stressed and fearful in the unfamiliar environment.

However, Muneca’s life took a turn when Elaine, a volunteer at the shelter, approached her with great kindness.

Understanding Muneca’s fears, Elaine gently knelt down and began to pet the scared beagle, offering the comfort and warmth Muneca desperately needed.

“Blind and covered with fleas, this 18-year-old Dachshund had been recently surrendered by her owner to the shelter. Being in an unfamiliar environment, she felt the warm, loving touch of Elaine, and clung to her. All she wanted was to be held the whole time”, wrote John on his official Facebook page.

John Hwang, a photographer, captured this heartwarming moment. And the photo, showing the powerful bond formed between Muneca and Elaine, went widely viral on social media.

From then on, everything changed for Muneca.

Finding A Home For Muneca

The viral photo caught the attention of the Frosted Faces Foundation (FFF), a dedicated animal care organization in San Diego County.

Moved by Muneca’s story, they immediately stepped in to rescue her from the shelter and began the process of finding her a new home.

The puppy was taken to the San Diego Animal Hospital for a comprehensive checkup, where it was discovered that in addition to being blind, she was also deaf.

Back at the FFF, she received a warm bubble bath and the necessary medical care, right what she needed for a fresh start.

“We took Muneca back to FFF Headquarters where she got a warm bubble bath and nail clipping. We rushed off to catch the sunset at the beach because that seemed like a suitable introduction to a new beginning.”

Despite these challenges, Muneca showed resilience all along, and with the care and treatment provided by the FFF, she started on the path to recovery.

Finding Forever With Amy

The search for a forever home for Muneca resulted in numerous inquiries, but it was Amy who stood out as the perfect match.

Despite initial uncertainties, it became clear during their meeting that Amy was indeed the ideal choice for Muneca.

Muneca’s reaction to Amy, pressing gently against her chest and even wagging her tail as Amy signed the adoption papers, sealed their bond.

“When Amy saw Muneca for the first time this afternoon, she cried and reached for her kindly. She pressed her against her chest gently and Muneca draped her head over Amy’s shoulder. No lie, Muneca even wagged her tail as Amy signed her name on the magic line of the contract.”

Now in a loving home, Muneca has transformed from a dog abandoned and left to die into a cherished pet who receives all the care and affection she deserves.

Despite her age, blindness, and deafness, Muneca’s spirit remains unbroken, thriving under Amy’s care and proving that love can truly make all the difference.
