Abandoned Pup Dog With Sad Note On Her Collar Jumps Into Police Car

In Platteville, Wisconsin, something happened recently that shows how many dogs out there are left all alone, needing someone to help them.
All over the country, more and more dogs are being abandoned, each with their own story.
One of them is Lola—a pup who didn’t think twice before jumping into safety when the chance came.
A Cry For Help In The Park
On August 25, 2023, the Platteville Police Department (PPD) shared a story about an abandoned dog in their city.
While it’s not unusual for the police department to receive calls about stray animals, this situation was different because the dog was found with a note.

When a police officer arrived at Mound View Park and Campground, where a local resident had seen the stray dog, the female pup immediately hopped into the officer’s car.
“This sweet girl came right over to the officer and jumped in the squad,” the department said in a Facebook post.
Upon closer examination, the officer noticed something unusual about the dog. Her pink collar had something attached to it.
“Upon further inspection, the officer discovered this note attached to the pink collar the dog was wearing,” the post continued.
The note read: “Please help. Take me to a shelter. My name is LOLA.”

Reading the note and looking into the dog’s soulful eyes, the officer felt a deep sense of sadness.
It was clear that this sweet girl had been abandoned by her owners, which is illegal under Platteville’s municipal ordinance.
From Squad Car To Safe Haven
“We are asking for the public’s assistance in finding Lola’s original ‘owners’. We would like to speak with them. Thank you in advance,” the police department announced in the Facebook post.
Lola’s story quickly captured public attention, leaving many wondering why she had been abandoned.

While the PPD worked to investigate her background, Lola was taken to the Platteville Veterinary Clinic, which began searching for a new forever home for her.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for her to find a loving family. Just a week later, this precious dog was adopted.
Both the PPD and the veterinary clinic updated everyone, sharing that Lola had been adopted and was on her way to a wonderful new home.
