What The Neighbor Thought Were ‘Little Rags’ Turned Out To Be Something Else Entirely
Terry and his brother spent over two heartbreaking years chained to a rooftop, exposed to the harshest elements.
Their once-happy personalities faded under the weight of neglect, and their matted, dirty fur left them completely unrecognizable.

A Rescue That Changed Everything
A compassionate neighbor couldn’t bear to see their suffering any longer and contacted the authorities.

Soon after, an animal rescue team from West Coast Paws Dog Rescue arrived to save the brothers.
“The dogs had incredibly matted fur. You can’t even begin to understand how they had been feeling up there for so long,” shared Zoë, one of the rescuers, with The Dodo.
The pair were immediately taken to the shelter, where they received the first baths and haircuts they had in years.

Their transformation was remarkable, and it was clear how handsome and vibrant they were under all that neglect.

Once clean and healthy, the brothers underwent vet checkups before being listed for adoption.
But while Terry’s brother found a home quickly, Terry spent seven months waiting for someone to choose him.
Love At First Sight
Terry’s fortunes changed when Lee and Danny stumbled upon his adoption listing. The couple was moved by his story, especially his resilience despite such a difficult past.

“We gravitated toward Terry partly because they were having trouble adopting him out. There was just something about him that touched my heart,” said Lee.
Determined to give Terry a second chance at life, Lee and Danny traveled to meet him.
After some excited tail wagging and lots of love, Terry—soon renamed Teddy—was on his way to his new forever home.
Flying To His Happy Forever Home
Teddy’s journey to his new family wasn’t easy. He traveled on two planes with his caretakers, Ariane and Tami, who made sure everything went smoothly. Teddy, full of excitement, wagged his tail the entire time.

As soon as he landed, Teddy was greeted by his new parents and a pile of toys waiting just for him.
His transition into his new home was seamless, and he quickly bonded with Lee and Danny, shedding his timid nature and embracing life like a puppy again.

“I think his future is one of a lot of human companionship. We’re just really so happy to have Teddy share the rest of his life with us,” said Danny.
From the darkest days to a future filled with love and companionship, Teddy finally found the happiness he so deeply deserved.
This brave pup is now living his happily-ever-after, proving that every dog deserves a second chance.
