Stubborn Pup Refusing To Be Rescued Surprises Everyone With Her Adorable Hidden Secret
Driving down a rural road near Noble, Oklahoma, Alysse Matlock spotted something fluffy moving in the middle of the pavement.
Realizing it was a miniature Australian Shepherd, she worried for its safety and pulled over, hoping to help.
However, the pup, frightened and unaware of her good intentions, bolted away.
A Town Mobilizes To Help
Later, Alysse shared a photo of the dog on Facebook, hoping someone might recognize it.
Responses flooded in, revealing others had seen the same dog patrolling the area—but nobody knew where she had come from.

Soon, the dog, now named Journey, was spotted ten miles away in Noble. As colder days approached, local animal lovers grew increasingly concerned for her safety.
Worry deepened when someone noticed her belly was distended, signaling that she was heavily pregnant.

Determined to get Journey to safety, Alysse went out to search for her again. After locating the pup, she spent three hours trying to earn her trust.
But as the clock ticked past 1 a.m., Journey still wouldn’t budge, forcing Alysse to return the next day.
Journey Finds Shelter At Last
The following day, Alysse spotted Journey peeking out from behind a large piece of trash.
“She’d spent the night curled up in a busted recliner by the side of the highway,” Alysse wrote in a video.

Despite her efforts, Journey remained reluctant to be rescued. Alysse enlisted the help of other townspeople, and together, they formed a plan.

Using teamwork and plenty of hotdogs, the group finally coaxed Journey into a car.
“It was such a relief when she was finally caught. All of us strangers that had stopped on the side of the road that morning started hugging,” Alysse shared with The Dodo.
A Surprise Delivery
With Journey safely in her care, Alysse brought her to a vet who confirmed the soon-to-be-mama would give birth in five to seven days.
But Journey had a surprise in store. The very next morning, Alysse awoke to the sound of tiny squeaks.

Two puppies had already arrived, and four more followed shortly after.
Journey had given birth to a healthy, adorable litter of six. In the warmth and safety of Alysse’s home, the brave mom and her babies finally found the peace and rest they needed.
A Bright Future For Journey And Her Pups
For now, Journey and her puppies are safe and thriving.
