Kind Man Hugs A Lonely Pittie Abandoned In A Parking Lot And Brings Her Home

A cold, rainy day turned into a miracle for a pit bull left all alone in a parking lot.

When a couple spotted her standing hopelessly in the pouring rain, they knew they couldn’t leave her behind.

They asked workers at Harbor Freight in Oklahoma about the dog and learned she had been waiting in the parking lot for weeks.

The workers had been feeding her but believed she was abandoned.

Rachel’s husband immediately insisted on rescuing the sweet pup.

“I knew as soon as we pulled up at the parking lot that he would not leave her there. My husband insisted on rescuing her,” Rachel shared.

Once home, the dog, later named Lucy, hugged Rachel’s husband, melting their hearts.

The couple initially thought Lucy was lost, and they decided to foster her.

They posted photos online and checked for a microchip, but she didn’t have one and no one came forward to claim her.

Making Lucy Part Of The Pack

Rachel and her husband, who foster dogs for The Outsiders Rescue OK in Tulsa, already had 13 dogs of their own.

They placed Lucy in the laundry room to help her relax and feel safe.

The next day, Lucy met their alpha female dog, Ellie. The two sniffed each other, and it was love at first sight.

Lucy quickly bonded with the rest of the dogs, who welcomed her with open paws and showed her how to play.

Lucy Now Lives Her Dream Life

Lucy formed a deep connection with Rachel’s husband and became a true daddy’s girl.

“She definitely prefers my husband. It’s like she knows he was the one who fought for her. That’s her person,” Rachel said.

Even though the couple initially thought Lucy might just be a foster, it soon became clear that this was her forever home.

“It’s like she knew she was home. We kept trying to find her owners, but after about a month, I knew she wasn’t leaving,” Rachel said.

After officially adopting Lucy through Outsiders Rescue OK, Rachel and her husband were thrilled to give her the life she deserved.

Lucy blossomed into a confident, joyful dog, finally able to let go of her fears.
