Puppy In Shelter Greets Passersby With The Funniest Smile

In Shreveport, Louisiana, a Lab Retriever mix named Burreaux captured hearts worldwide with his infectious smile.

This twelve-week-old puppy was waiting for his furever home at a local shelter when his adorable grin turned his fate around.

A Smile That Launched A Thousand Hearts

Burreaux’s journey began at the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, where he was transferred along with his two siblings from Caddo Animal Control.

Courtney Wingate, the director of the Humane Society, first noticed Burreaux because of his big, endearing smile.

Moved by his cheerful expression, she decided to take him and his siblings into care, providing the necessary treatment and fostering.

Overcoming Challenges With A Smile

Upon arrival, Burreaux faced a tough battle with parvo disease.

The team at the Humane Society promptly treated him, and happily, Burreaux beat the disease!

Throughout his treatment, Burreaux never lost his spirit or his smile. He was always eager to cuddle and play, charming everyone who came to visit.

What’s unique about Burreaux’s smile is that it isn’t just a random occurrence.

It happens when he hears a high-pitched note in someone’s voice, a sound that seems to trigger his heartwarming grin.

According to the shelter volunteers, if you want Burreaux to flash his smile, all you have to do is speak from the heart—something any dog lover naturally does upon meeting a perfect puppy like him.

“It’s whenever you’re talking real sweet to him … he gets this smile like he wants something,” volonteer Sarrah Walton told The Dodo.

Finding His Furever Home

After some time and the Facebook video has gone viral, Burreaux’s delightful demeanor and constant smile paid off.

He found a pawfect family who fell in love with him just the way he is.

Saying goodbye was bittersweet for the Humane Society team, but they were thrilled to see him bond with his new family, where he could receive all the love and attention he deserves.

Now in his new home, Burreaux continues to spread joy with his “come pet me, come love me” smile.
