Man Tries To Euthanize His Two Healthy Dogs Just Because His Girlfriend Didn’t Want Them

When a man chose his relationship over his loyal dogs, their future took a heartbreaking turn.
He decided to have them euthanized simply because his girlfriend didn’t want them around.
But just when all hope seemed lost, kindhearted people stepped in to change their fate.
A Decade Of Loyalty Shattered
An Indiana man shocked everyone when he walked into a vet clinic with his two senior dogs, Cosmo and Sam, and requested their euthanasia.

Cosmo, a Labrador Retriever mix, and Sam, a Pointer, were a bonded pair who had shared nearly 10 years of their lives with him.
Despite their sweet, healthy, and happy demeanor, the man no longer saw them as part of his future.
His reason? He was moving in with his girlfriend, who was allergic to dogs, and decided they were no longer worth the effort.

Instead of rehoming them or surrendering them to a shelter, he opted for “convenience euthanasia,” a term used to describe euthanizing pets simply because they no longer fit into an owner’s lifestyle.
Thankfully, the vet refused, saying, “None of us want to end a pet’s life unless it is to prevent suffering.“
Cosmo and Sam were spared and sent to Begin Again Rescue Co. (BARC), a foster-based non-profit dog rescue in Valparaiso, Indiana, where their journey to healing began.
A Heartwarming Second Chance
Though heartbroken, Cosmo and Sam slowly regained their playful spirits with the help of BARC’s volunteers.
Finding a home for two senior dogs bonded for life proved challenging, as most adopters seek younger pups.
After months of waiting, P.A.W.S. Tinley Park, a no-kill animal shelter in Illinois, stepped in to assist.

Against the odds, the pair soon caught the attention of Eric and Tiffany Dybas, a couple grieving the recent loss of their dog.
Eric and Tiffany fell in love with Cosmo and Sam’s story, and the pair finally found their forever home.
“Thanks to our friends at P.A.W.S. Tinley Park, Sam and Cosmo are laying on a comfy couch tonight! They were so good when they visited Santa, and now their Christmas wish came true! They have a home!” shared BARC on Facebook.
Today, Cosmo and Sam are living their best lives with Eric and Tiffany, who shower them with love and attention.

BARC shared that the two handsome pups are now enjoying their new home, surrounded by love and plenty of pampering.
After facing abandonment, Cosmo and Sam’s story is proof that even the darkest moments can lead to a brighter future with the right people.
