Apartment Residents Shocked To Find A Tiny Puppy Trapped On Top Of An Old Roof

No one expected to find a puppy sitting alone on a rooftop, but that’s exactly what happened at an apartment complex in Texas.
Scared and unsure of how he got there—or how to get down—the little pup lay quietly, hoping someone would notice and help him.
Thankfully, the people who lived nearby didn’t ignore him. One of them quickly called the team at Austin Animal Center, and help was on the way.
A Risky Spot And A Race Against Time
Animal protection officers Staci Figueroa and Erica Cerza rushed to the scene.

When they arrived, they were surprised to see the puppy had somehow wandered out through the apartment hallway and slipped onto the roof.

The problem was, he couldn’t figure out how to get back—and just next to him was a dangerous hole in the metal roofing. A fall could have ended badly.

Wasting no time, the officers teamed up with a helpful resident. Using a screwdriver, they removed a piece of the fence that blocked their access to the puppy.

Now that they had a clear path, Cerza carefully reached in and pulled the pup to safety.
“As if nothing had happened,” the team joked, the fence was fixed right after.
A Pup Named Wicket
Once he was safe, the pup relaxed in Cerza’s arms, even playing with her hair. He seemed confused at first but quickly realized he was in good hands.
The rescue team contacted the apartment management, hoping someone might come forward to claim the puppy. But no one did.

The little guy was taken to the shelter, where he got all the care he needed—and a new name: Wicket.
It didn’t take long for Wicket to feel at home. Within days, he was full of energy, showing everyone how sweet and playful he could be.
And the best part? Wicket didn’t have to wait long for his next adventure.
Just a short time after his rooftop rescue, Wicket was adopted by a loving family.
“No one came forward, and “Wicket” was adopted to a new home last week,” the team shared on Facebook.
He now spends his days far away from danger, surrounded by people who adore him. He’s safe, happy, and living the life every pup dreams of.
All thanks to a few caring neighbors and a rescue team who acted just in time.
