When Lee Asher, who runs The Asher House in Oregon, saw a thin and weak dog at the Tacoma Humane Society, he knew he couldn’t leave her behind.

The shelter staff had done their best, but it was clear she would need round-the-clock care, something Lee and his team could offer at The Asher House.
