Hilarious Genius Dog Outsmarts Vets Trying To Sneak Pills Into Sandwiches
Alicia Pet Care Center is well-known for perfecting the art of keeping their furry patients happy and stress-free during visits.
Their approach, refined over the years, includes plenty of treats and extra care to ensure a smooth experience for every animal.
However, their tried-and-true methods faced an unexpected challenge when a clever canine patient refused to fall for their well-practiced tricks, no matter how creative they got.
A Canine Mastermind
Bandit arrived at Alicia Pet Care Center (APCC) in Mission Viejo, California, needing several days of treatment, including taking some prescribed medicines.
However, Bandit had no intention of making things easy.

“He was very honest in his feedback of his disgust for medicine,” said Diana Gorin, APCC’s social media marketing specialist, to The Dodo. “He simply would not take any.“
After consulting with Bandit’s owner, Eric, the team decided to employ his favorite food—turkey sandwiches—as their secret weapon.
“We specifically made a trip to Target to get him the necessary ingredients for an excellent turkey sandwich,” Gorin explained.
Confident in their plan, they offered Bandit the sandwich. But instead of eating it, Bandit gently carried it to his bed, rested his head on it like a pillow, and refused to budge.

The staff tried multiple variations: plain turkey, peanut butter turkey, and even peanut butter-only sandwiches.
Bandit rejected them all, steadily building a stack of untouched sandwiches to use as his bed.
“We tried plain turkey sandwiches, peanut butter turkey sandwiches, peanut butter only,” said Gorin. “Unfortunately, none of those were to his satisfaction.“
The humorous standoff prompted the team to share Bandit’s antics on TikTok, much to the delight of viewers who were thoroughly entertained by his stubbornness.

A Meatball Breakthrough
Despite their laughter, the staff knew Bandit needed his medicine. After much brainstorming, the vets devised a new plan to sneak the pills past his defenses.

“Two of our doctors wrapped a pill up in a delicious meatball without him seeing,” Gorin shared. “They presented it to him, and he ate it!“
From that point on, Bandit happily consumed his medication disguised in meatballs until his treatment was complete.
A Happy Ending
After a week at the clinic, Bandit returned home, much healthier and perhaps a little smug.

“I believe Bandit is doing much better at home,” Gorin said. “Perhaps he’s opening up a deli called Bandit’s Turkey Sandwiches.“
With his cleverness and charm, Bandit captured hearts online, proving that even when faced with medicine, a determined dog can be unstoppable.
