Dog Left Tied To A Pole With Head In Trash Bag Stuns Everyone With Remarkable Recovery
Acts of cruelty toward dogs sadly happen far too often, but some heroes dedicate their lives to saving them.
This is the story of Lisa, a neglected dog who went from heartbreak to hope after being rescued.
Rescuers Save Lisa From Despair
Sabine, a rescuer from Little Steps Matter, and her colleague found Lisa tied to a pole, her head buried in a trash bag searching for scraps.
The sight of the malnourished and helpless pup broke their hearts.
“It was so cruel that somebody left her behind like this. They tied her up so she couldn’t run after them when they dumped her,” Sabine shared with The Dodo.
The pair quickly freed Lisa and carried her to safety, knowing she would finally receive the care she so desperately needed.
Urgent Medical Attention
At the vet clinic, Lisa’s condition was assessed: she was severely dehydrated, had mange, and was in the early stages of cancer.
She was immediately placed on an IV and monitored closely by the clinic staff.
The road to recovery began almost instantly.
Sabine shared, “She had a bit more energy and was greeting us happily, wagging her tail. After five days, Lisa was allowed to leave the clinic and came home to our safehouse.“
Adjusting to her new home, Lisa was initially overwhelmed by the love and care she received. However, she soon embraced her new life, and her radiant happiness became evident.
After just ten days, Lisa transformed significantly. Her weight increased, her fur began to grow back, and her playful personality emerged.
Four weeks later, she was declared cancer-free!
Sabine shared, “It was a bit overwhelming for her at first, but our pack is always very gentle with newcomers, and she was settling in with all so well. Lisa totally started to blossom and became a playful teenager with a gentle and loving nature.“
Lisa’s Bright Future
Today, Lisa is a joyful and energetic dog who loves playing on the beach and spending time with humans. She’s now looking for her forever home.
“Lisa is a miracle dog, and she deserves the very best,” Sabine said.
