Dog Left Hurt On Train Tracks And Forced To Duck Trains For Days Gets His Happy Ending

Some stories start in darkness but end in the brightest light—and Lucky’s is one of them.
This brave pup was abandoned on train tracks, unable to move and desperately clinging to life.
Left On The Tracks With No Way Out
Lucky’s story begins in the most heartbreaking way, abandoned on the train tracks in Montgomery County, Philadelphia.

Injured and scared, he couldn’t move his back legs and spent two long days ducking under passing trains, desperately clinging to life.
When some kind people spotted him lying helpless between the rails, they called for help right away.

Police officers and rescue volunteers arrived quickly, but what they saw stopped them in their tracks.
Lucky’s eyes, filled with pain and sadness, silently begged them to save him.
From The Tracks To Safety
The rescuers approached gently, bringing food and comfort. As they reassured him with soft words and caring hands, Lucky knew he wasn’t alone anymore.

Philly Rescue Angels INC took him under their care and rushed him to the emergency clinic.
At the hospital, the team found that Lucky had serious scrapes and broken teeth. X-rays revealed he had a severe spinal cord injury, likely from being hit by a train.
Vets believed he might never walk again.

Despite the grim news, one of Lucky’s rescuers, Sidara Son, refused to give up on him.
While some considered euthanasia, she insisted he deserved a fighting chance—and Lucky agreed.
He underwent a six-hour spinal surgery and pulled through.

Soon, he began adjusting to a special harness and later a wheeled cart. Even in recovery, Lucky was full of affection, covering his caregivers in kisses.
Finding The Right Home
After his story was shared online, messages poured in from people who wanted to help.
The rescue knew Lucky needed extra care, so they carefully chose a foster—Kimberly Price Astringer, the director of Tiny Paws Rescue.

In Kimberly’s home, Lucky found peace. He received medical care, love, and lots of snuggles.
Sidara stayed involved, taking him to appointments and cheering him on through each step of recovery.
With time, Lucky’s strength grew. He could stand with help and even started wagging his tail again. He loved playing with toys, riding in his cart, and enjoying the comfort of a real home.

But trauma doesn’t disappear overnight. He struggled with anxiety and fear, especially from his past experience. He was still waiting for that one special person to give him forever love.
The Happy Ending He Deserved
In January 2023, his rescue posted an update saying that despite all his progress, no one had adopted Lucky yet. But that was about to change.
Sidara—the same person who held his paw on the tracks—knew what she had to do. She welcomed Lucky into her home, this time as her dog.

“Lucky completely flourished in my home! He was instantly comfortable in his new home, with his new pack. The anxiety, separation anxiety, fears, even fear of car rides, that had consumed him, faded away, once with me. He found security in the pack“, Sidara shared on a Facebook post.
Now, Lucky is living his best life with his mom and his new pack, surrounded by love, security, and joy every single day.
